I'm a tech / science nerd. I grew up watching Star Trek: TNG and dreaming of a job in space or on another planet doing science. I'm fascinated by the exponential growth of information technology and am always learning about the latest gadget, operating system, or entertainment system.
Currently, I'm really into: Android and all things Google, PC support and maintenance automation, offsite backups (gotta backup your data!), data encryption (PGP and TrueCrypt, they do different things), cloud services that save me time and electricity (by putting data into an efficient data center), building PCs one component at a time, home theater PCs with Linux for serving media, Polk Audio (love their speakers), HD projectors and big screens, hydroponics for growing food and fresh air indoors, emergency preparedness, solar power generation, and high altitude airborne wind energy (AWE) systems. Does any of that interest you too? Of course, I'm also into motorcycles and NASCAR like most guys.
I love learning about the world, watching documentaries, and talking about interesting topics. I'm a geek at heart and ain't afraid to show it. I enjoy intellectual comedies, scifi dramas, and anime with moral or emotional stories and good music.
I'm generally optimistic and it makes me happy to help others. I enjoy dancing, hiking, camping, picnics, scenic drives, biking, skiing, and evening walks with a cool breeze and my girl Dan by my side. :P
Keegan's Significant Other
Dan is a dream come true for me! Right from the beginning, it was apparent and almost eerie how much we had in common. We agree on so many important topics. The fact that Dan and I grew up on opposite sides of the planet makes it all the more amazing to find such a perfect match!
Dan is from China. She grew up in Lianyungang in Jiangsu province about half way between Beijing and Shanghai. It's a coastal city so the air quality is not bad. We met on a free dating site called OK Cupid, and I can't recommend this site enough! They do an exellent job of finding compatible matches based on a series of questions and profile options. It said Dan was a 93% match, the highest of any girl in China on that site, and it was certainly accurate! <3
I'm looking forward to meeting Dan in person soon, and if all goes well, we will marry and start a family. It's a nice feeling to find the right person, though no relationship is without challenges. I will be learning Mandarin and more about Chinese culture (which is pretty interesting actually), and Dan is happy to help. She's excellent with English both oral and written which has been a huge help to our getting to know each other via phone and email.
Dan recently graduated from college and in her earlier days was top of her class. She's the best at English (and many things) among all her friends. I don't mind bragging because it's true, we're both nerds and love learning of all kinds. I imagine life will always be interesting together.
Dan and my friends in China call me Kee. It's short and easy to say, I like it. I can tell when Dan is being serious when she calls me by my full name. lol.
On this site, Dan will be a contributing author. I rarely have the time to write these days. Having Dan's voice here will not only improve the quality and breadth of topics at keegoid.com, but also allow my friends and family to get to know Dan for the girl she is: kind-hearted, intelligent, respectful, and eloquent (among others).
